The Special Joint Parliamentary Committee reviewing readiness for providing MAID for sole mental illness conditions held hearings November 2023, its report and recommendations are anticipated to be released January 2024.

Watch the testimony from November 28, 2023, 19:30-20:30, which featured Dr. K. Sonu Gaind discussing lack of readiness/safeguards regarding MAID for mental illness. The session and Q&A explored an important range of relevant topics and is well worth watching (videos below split into Part I and Part II).
